What Is Lower Face Rejuvenation?
Lower face rejuvenation is a non-surgical treatment for those who would like to improve the definition and contours of the lower face. Our mouths are the most animated area of our face. Natural facial movements like smiling can create nasolabial folds aka "smile lines". In addition to smile lines, as we age we can develop lines that form from the corners of our mouths and extend down to our jaw called "Marionette Lines" (think like a puppet). These two areas can be treated with hyaluronic acid filler.
Benefits of Lower Face Rejuvenation
Lower face rejuvenation helps to minimize wrinkles and volume loss to the lower half of the face and around the mouth. This may include filler to nasolabial folds (smiles lines), marionettes, or chin creases/shadowing. Improving these areas with filler helps to keep the corners of the mouth lifted, and helps to keep makeup from settling in lines.

What exactly is lower face rejuvenation?
This procedure can benefit several areas considered to be lower face including: chin shadow, nasolabial folds, marionette lines and some jaw support.
Why would someone need lower face rejuvenation?
As we age, we lose facial fat and muscle mass as well as bone density which causes our remaining facial volume to trend downward. By replacing facial fat with filler we can support anatomy structures and replace the volume as it is lost, creating a more lifted and tighter appearance.
What products are used for this?
Usually HA filler can be used to replace volume in certain areas. Sculptra can also be used on the face perimeter to help lift and support the lower face as a more gradual result. Sylfirm can also be used to help topically for a lifting and skin tightening treatment. Depending on injector evaluation, all work well together and target that area well.
What is the cost?
$700 per syringe, typically a full lower face rejuvenation would start with about 2-3 syringes. Dependent on the individual, of course.
Down time?
Really no downtime but definitely possibility of bruising to the areas injected, you want to avoid anything that will thin your blood beforehand to decrease that risk of bruising. Can experience some minor swelling and soreness.
Maintenance for this procedure?
Usually a filler touch up, once desired result is achieved, is about 1x per year. Of course, incorporating other treatments such as lasers and RF micro needling can help with longer lasting results.
If my lower face seems to be sagging, is this what I need?
It’s possible, a consultation would be best to have an injector evaluation. Sometimes we can treat other areas with filler or other procedures to help lower the face specifically.
